There is nothing harder than working full time, raising a family, and going to school full time. But this has been my life since 2006. After deciding to return to school in 2006, I found out that I was pregnant with my first child, Elizabeth. My friends used to ask me after she was born, how was I able to work, go to school, and have a family, and my answer was simple: DETERMINATION. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I wanted a better life and I was tired of the dead end jobs in which I was going nowhere and barely making ends meet. I wanted a better life for myself and for my child, which soon became children. While still attending school, working, and having my daughter, I became pregnant with my second child, Hunter. I remember I was being induced on the last day of my finals, and it was icy and snowing.

By the time I finished my associate degree, I worked full time for a school district as a traveling aid for behavioral support, was raising two children, and attending school full time. I was set on completing my teaching degree and beginning my career as a teacher. I began my teaching career in 2011, and I have loved every minute since.

Now, six years later I am working on my master’s degree and creating a new path in this life of mine. Determination is the key to everything. Remember where there is a will, there is a way! See your goal and make it happen! Excuses get you nowhere, and there are more than enough excuses; therefore, if you truly want it, then stop making excuses and begin to make things happen in your life.
