One of the Best Decisions I’ve Made

Waiting for summer courses to begin, I realized how much joy the classes bring to my life and how fulfilled I feel in this moment. I decided to get my master’s last summer after getting my bachelor’s more than a decade ago, and I knew that it would be challenging — not just in content but in balancing my work and personal life with an added layer of being a student. I am going in to my sixth course next week and I have been missing the interaction from the students and professors and wanting to learn more about counseling more than ever. This program is giving me great support and fueling my drive to entering this new profession. Every day when I wake up, I am one day closer to graduating with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Attending Lamar University is one of the best decisions I have made for myself and my family.
