Lamar University blends a high quality learning experience with high touch student support. Through instructional associates, technical support, financial services, and much more, we focus on you, so you can focus on earning your degree.
Academic Support
Your academic success is our highest goal. From the start of your program, Lamar University resources are available to help you reach your goal of graduation. Each student is assigned an instructional associate who is a highly qualified, experienced leader in their field, and has earned a master's or doctorate degree. This academic role assists the professor and supports the student by providing feedback and answers to course-related questions.
Check Admissions Status, Missing Documents and Financial Aid Information
Students can log into the self-service portal located here to check on your admissions status, see what documents are missing, updates to your financial aid and much more.
Taking the Graduate Record Exam - General Test
Prepare for this test ahead of time by taking the GRE practice test and reviewing all GRE FAQs. If you fail to meet the requirements after the second test, you may appeal.
GRE Scores required prior to enrollment in third course.
All Master's Degree Programs: meet or exceed a formula total by calculating your cumulative GPA (undergraduate or post baccalaureate), OR the GPA from your last 60 hours of completed coursework, whichever is higher, x 200 + GRE Verbal and Quantitative scores = 1350.
Course Withdrawal and Refund Policy
A student may recover all tuition for the current course when proper documentation is received prior to the third day of the current course. Future courses that have been pre-paid will be refunded 100% less application fees.
Non-Pay Drop Policy
Payment for each course is due 7 days prior to the start date. Courses will be dropped 3-4 days prior to the start date if not paid in full. For those receiving financial aid, payment is required in full before courseware is made available; if aid is delayed, personal payment must be made pending receipt of funds. Please note: Course access is given approximately 3-4 days prior to the course start date to students who are paid in full. Although courses will not be dropped for non-payment until 3-4 days prior to the start date, students will not receive access to courseware until 48 hours after payment is received in full.
If you are dropped for non-payment and would like to be reinstated, please contact Records by the first course date to be reinstated. Courseware will be made available no earlier than 5 p.m. on the following day.
