Developed a course in Environmental Law that is offered for business students, environmental science majors and engineering majors. It contains guest lectures from environmental managers in local industry, local and federal enforcement agencies, and environmental lawyers, interest groups and other experts in the field. Numerous field trips are part of this class, including a trip to the City of Beaumont Water Reclamation plant, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Veolia Environmental (Hazardous Water Treatment facility) and a Neches River tour.

Why did you start teaching?
I was a trial lawyer working for a local law firm. As my family grew, teaching at the university allowed me to stay on the same schedule as my children.

Live in the present moment. Make the most of each. Always try to be the best version of yourself.
What's the best advice that you could give your students?
Critical thinking and oral and written communication skills.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the profession in which you teach?
Being open, genuine, and appreciative of the honor of hearing someone's story.
