  • How has this degree affected your professional outlook? What about personally?

    Professionally, I am qualified for a variety of positions. Personally, I am more confident because of the knowledge I gained.

  • What was your single biggest takeaway from the program?

    Even though I am now older, I still enjoyed learning!

  • How much time per week did you spend on your studies?

    Approximately 10 hours.

  • Describe how having an online option made a degree more accessible for you.

    Had it not been for the online option, I would not have a master's degree due to my location and the fact that I moved during the course of the program.

  • What was one of the biggest challenges during the program, and how did you overcome it?

    One of the biggest challenges was the time commitment, especially on the weekends. I focused on the end being near, only a year and a half beginning to end, to overcome this challenge.

  • Why did you choose to earn your advanced degree from Lamar University?

    Several of my colleagues were either current students or graduates of the Lamar program, and none of them had anything negative to say about the program, contrary to those in other programs.

  • What advice would you give to a prospective student who is considering this program?

    If you are determined and committed to attaining your degree, this program is the best avenue for you.

  • What helped you get through the program the most? What helped you make it to the finish line?

    I had a friend who went through the program at the same time, which helped to have someone to talk to. Also, my family was extremely supportive.

  • Describe your family's thoughts and feelings about you earning your degree.

    My family is proud of my accomplishment because they witnessed the sacrifices I made for it.

  • If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?

    I would have continued in the doctoral program.
