The Program Certificate in Principal Education online program blends theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience school leadership experience to give you effective strategies for supporting student learning and achievement. You will learn best practices for integrating technology into the classroom as well as how to engage and partner with stakeholders across the entire school community.
With guidance from experienced educators and superintendents, you will understand the legal, ethical and policy dimensions of education with special emphasis on case law, the Texas Education Code and federal and state statutes. In addition, you will develop effective strategic planning, personnel management and instructional design skills.
*Price includes distance learning fee. On December 27, 2016, new requirements regarding educator preparation programs were approved and published in the Texas Administrative Code (TAC). New language regarding field observations were included in the new TAC. Specifically, Title 19 part 7 Chapter 228 RULE 228.35 requires educator preparation programs to now conduct at least one of the field observations on-campus face-to-face for principal, superintendent, and school counselor certification. Beginning spring 2017, a fee of $500.00 will be included in the total tuition for those students enrolled in programs impacted by the new TAC changes.
