  • What do your students in these courses learn?

    In essence, students in the educational diagnostician program must learn be efficient yet effective in their daily role. This means learning the importance of teamwork, which will be demonstrated in the practicum courses as they work with experienced educational diagnosticians. Because diagnosticians work with other disciplines (speech therapists/diagnosticians, social workers, school psychologists, teachers, parents, etc.) collaboration, and communication are monumental. Despite personality differences, diagnosticians work as a team. Respecting and adhering to timelines are critical to the role of educational diagnostician. Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to multitask are also vital components in learning to be effective educational diagnostician.

  • Why did you start teaching?

    As a seasoned educational diagnostician with 15 years of experience, I am confident in my abilities to do the job well. Helping students fulfill their dreams of becoming educational diagnosticians is very rewarding.

  • What advice would you give those considering your online program(s)?

    Our educational diagnostician program offers extensive training opportunities, allowing you to gain authentic, on-the-job training. With the use of current assessment instruments, students will be well-prepared after completing our program.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

    I think everyone in the field of special education should be familiar with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

    I love restoring wood furniture.
