University Admission Requirements

All applicants must complete an application packet, consisting of:

  • Complete online application and pay an application fee of $25
  • Submit official transcripts from all high schools, colleges and universities you have attended
    • All transcripts are required regardless of accreditation. Only regionally accredited institutions will be eligible for transfer credit.
  • Verify specific requirements associated with chosen degree program

Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences — Management Emphasis Admission Requirements

  • Completed AAS degree from a regionally accredited community college, with a major in management
  • A course in Elementary Statistical Methods (MATH 1342)

Required statistics coursework may be completed during the program.

The BAAS Management Emphasis curriculum comprises 120 credit hours, including up to 42 hours in AAS transfer credit, 27-30 hours in emphasis-area classes and any general education coursework needed to meet bachelor's degree requirements.

A survey of the production function and the analytical tools used to solve problems associated with the development and operation of a production system. Analytical tools include: linear programming, critical path scheduling, waiting line, statistical quality control and forecasting.

A behavioral approach to the management of the human resource in business enterprise. The fundamentals of human relations and organizational behavior will be used to structure an understanding of the managerial problems of recruitment, selection, training, promotion and termination of personnel. Supervision of the work force will be considered as an examination of theories of motivation, communication and leadership.

Students will be able to:

  • Address the most common challenges in human resources
  • Utilize best practices for recruitment and hiring
  • Understand important concepts around diversity and inclusion and be able to apply techniques to engage in difficult conversations to address diversity and inclusion challenges in the workforce

A survey course emphasizing the need for improved productivity in profit and non-profit organizations. The course will focus on the historical and current aspects of productivity as well as problems and methods of measuring, planning, and implementing productivity programs.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Show that quality in manufacturing and quality in services must be approached differently in terms of employees' responsibilities and type and use of technology
  • Explain the concept of competitive advantage, which denotes a firm’s ability to achieve market superiority over its competitors
  • Understand that if quality is not internalized at the personal level, it will never become rooted in the culture of an organization as organizations ask employees to take more responsibility for acting as the point of contact between the organization and the customer
